Sonoita-Elgin T.E.A. Party
Grassroots in the Grasslands

The Sonoita-Elgin  T.E.A. Party is determined  to connect our fellow patriots with the resources needed to be engaged citizens and effective activists. Our vision is to live in a nation, where individual liberty is cherished and maximized, where the Constitution is revered and upheld, and where Americans are free to pursue their personal American Dream.

The Sonoita-Elgin T.E.A. Party is comprised of a diverse group of individuals who share some basic principles, including, but not limited to:

  • PROTECTION OF THE U. S. CONSTITUTION: As citizens, we are most free when our Constitution is followed, and all Americans have the opportunity to live life the way in which they want, as long as it does not harm or infringe upon the rights of others.
  • LIMITING THE SIZE OF GOVERNMENT:      The U. S. Constitution is very specific regarding the scope,  roll, and the responsibility that the federal government may have in relation to influence over its citizens.
  • REDUCE GOVERNMENT SPENDING: Increasing the U. S. debt puts an undue burden on present and future generations. It is only fair and right to pay the debt we have incurred, so our children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, et al, are not stuck with our bills. Bottom line: Balance the budget.
  • TAXES (IN ALL FORMS):                                    The U. S. Constitution does not provide for the institution of tax levies on its citizenry; this mechanism is left to state and local governments to determine.

The Sonoita-Elgin T.E.A. Party is a non-partisan organization, and does not endorse or promote specific party-affiliated candidates.   We will, at times, disseminate information on candidates whose views may be of interest, and aligned with, the principles of the SETP.

We support a growing, robust economy, with minimal regulation, reduced tax rates and limited government spending.

We will take an interest in, and a position on, ballot initiatives, if they are connected to the issues mentioned above.

We are a community-based organization, independent in our choices of personal life paths, yet bound together by our mutual belief in these basic principles.
